Talens are one use Fetishes. They can be used by anyone, but are destroyed after use.

Starting with a Fetish: is a level 3 background.

Starting with a Talen is a level 1 background

Crafting a Fetish: Crafting a Fetish is a difficulty 5 craft: fetish challenge. You must already have a suitable item for crafting the fetish into. ( for skill items this means an item that grants at least 3 traits. For Weapons this means a weapon with the expensive tag.)

Crafting a Talen: is a difficulty 3 Craft Fetish Challenge. You may increase the difficulty to create additional copies of the same Talen. Every difficulty over 3 creates one additional Talen.

Attuning a Fetish: A Changer lowers their permanent Gnosis pool rating by one for every Fetish they have attuned. A Changer using an unattuned fetish is treated as using an improvised weapon, or it simply doesn't work. . The one exception exists within a scene, where the fetish owner dies. Any of their allies may pick up and use the fetish for the remainder of the scene.

The rating of a Fetish is equal to the Rank of its Owner.

Bonuses provided by Fetishes are equipment bonuses unless otherwise stated.

Weapon Fetishes

Klaive

A Klaive is a weapon wieldable by a werewolf, including a werewolf in frenzy. It can be drawn or sheathed in frenzy. It is treated as a silver weapon for the purposes of inflicting damage. It is one handed and comes in a variety of designs and weapon types, but they all have the same statistics. There are a variety of statistics. All Klaives have the Durable Tag and are Melee weapons.

  • Level 1 provides 1 bonus trait, does 1 ag or 3 lethal
  • Level 2 2 traits 2 ag or 3 lethal
  • Level 3 3 traits 3 ag or 4 lethal
  • Level 4 4 traits 3 ag or 5 lethal
  • Level 5 5 traits 4 ag or 6 lethal

Grand Klaive:

Grand Klaives deal 1 additional damage, but has 3 less traits per level. These massive weapons are unwieldy even for Garou.

Iron Hammer:

The Get of Fenris and the Gurahl use them sometimes, while the Uktena utilize a bladed throwing hatchet called The Winter’s Bite.

Sunwhip:

The Sun Whip deals aggravated damage against Vampires and evokes a frenzy test in them. They may also be used to grapple at a distance. However they may not deal anything but Ag, (min 1) Sunwhips are popular among the Kitsune and the Stargazers.

Dread Spear:

The dread spear inflicts a burning aggravated wound on any target it strikes. This wound applies a trait penalty to them, equal to the rating of the fetish. These are not cumulative with additional attacks. The dread spear may only deal aggravated damage, and deals 1 less than a normal Klaive of similar rank. Dread Spears are popular among the Bastet And the Fianna.

Paired Fangs:

Gunblade:

A new Cybernetic Fetish, it's really only used by Spiders and Glasswalkers. It is both a Gun and a Klaive... It has both the effects of a Blaze pistol and a Klaive but acts as though it is 1 rank lower for both. Spiritual purists call it’s use an abomination of weaver magic. More practical Fera wonder.. Why not just have a gun and a sword.

  • Level 2 3 traits and 2 lethal
  • Level 3 4 traits and 3 lethal
  • Level 4 5 traits and 4 lethal
