Spirit Sight

Type: Basic/Opposed Paradox: +2 if witnessed Challenge: Socials(Arete) vs Socials(willpower) Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 scene/instant

  • Short cast: By casting this basic spell you can do any of the below the following benefits for the scene based on your spirit score
    • 1)You may see and speak to spirits for the scene.
    • 2)You may forcibly expel a spirit from this plane or from a possessed body with an appropriate socials(arete) vs socials(willpower) check or you may forcibly expel other types of creatures from a possessed body with an appropriate socials(arete) vs socials(willpower) check.
    • 3)You may summon a Spirit of Rank equal to your Spirit +1, ( works as per summon)
  • Long cast: Casting this spell as an action allows you to double your Spirit score when determining the rank of spirits you can summon, this summons a specific spirit of your choosing.

Step sideways

Type: Basic Paradox: +1 if witnessed Challenge: Socials(Arete) vs 10 traits Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 Round

  • Short cast: This Spell allows you to step physically over the gauntlet to the penumbra, if you are a master of spirit(3) you can step to the base of the high umbra in the vulgate. Summoning the portal takes 1 round after which you can step inside.
  • Long cast: Wonder: This wonder allows you to craft any Fetish or Talent from the Changing breed rules. Your rank equals your Spirit. Fetishes count as two wonders for the purposes of adding additional wonder effects.

Strengthen gauntlet

Type: Basic/Opposed Paradox: +1 if witnessed Challenge: Mentals(Arete) vs Mentals(arete) Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 scene

  • Short cast: For the scene with a successful basic arete check you bar spirits, wraiths, and travelers from entering the room in the penumbra, astral, and any other overlaid realms, as well as stepping across the gauntlet or shroud into the material world. Circle 3+ wraiths and essence 5+ spirits can break this gauntlet by spending 2 willpower, ending the spell and crossing over. This spell can also be cast to try to break this gauntlet cast by another mage, or in a place where umbral travel is otherwise impossible say by the calcified webs of the weaver in which case you make an opposed mentals(Arete) vs mentals(Arete) check to break the other mage’s spell.
  • Long cast: You can cast this spell on a location as an action applying its effects to that location, calcifying it and preventing umbra travel into it for the month.

Spiritual appearance

Type: Basic/Permanent Paradox: N/A Challenge: Socials(Arete) vs 10 traits Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 scene

  • Short cast: For the scene you temporarily double(Max+3) your passive social traits from the spirit sphere for the scene.
  • Long cast: You can cast this spell as an action to make it last for the night, If you are a master of spirit(3) this spell becomes permanent.

Consecrate

Type: Basic Paradox: +1 if witnessed Challenge: Socials(Arete) vs 10 traits Cost: 1Q Duration: 1 scene

  • Short cast: Cast on a scene, this spell wards an area against a specific creature type, they take a trait penalty equal to your (spirit). Only 1 ward can be applied at a time to a scene.
  • Long cast: Casting this spell as an action allows you to lower the difficulty of a geomancy project to create or change the aspect of a node by half as if you had the proper influence.
