If they have visited the caern before and are going alone before then there is no check. The garou may bring passengers but each one increases the difficulty of the check by one, from a starting difficulty of 3. Going to a caern they have never been to requires a difficulty 5 survival check, that increases by one per passenger. Failure results in them being stuck in the umbra.
